A great place to start is what both these words actually mean. Motivation is having the energy and EXCITEMENT to do something like a workout. When you are motivated, you look forward to it, right? Now discipline is when you don't want to do something, but you do it anyway. When you don't want to make a healthy meal, you do it anyway because it's the RIGHT choice and will bring you closer to your goals. Unfortunately, your motivation to workout, eat healthy, go for that morning run and track your calories won't last forever. It may last a week or two. If 100 people said to you that they were going to start working out, eating right and sleeping right, only 10 of them would actually stick to it after the first two weeks - because their motivation has run out and they don't have a good enough reason to continue. Discipline is what sets apart the winners and the losers, like night and day. If you only went to the gym when you felt like it, you would never have a good physique. But compared to the person who goes no matter how they feel every single week, they will have an amazing physique. And the best part is, this doesn't just relate to fitness. It relates to work, your relationships, your diet, and your overall life! I know what you're thinking "How do I build my discipline?" The answer is - do the things you don't want to do time and time again until you don't even have to think about it anymore. It will get to a point where you waste no time and just do it! Now go out there and build unbreakable discipline.
